PARIS, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Saint-Gobain announces that it will soon break ground for a plasterboard plant near Jakarta to respond more effectively to local demand and pursue its development in the fast-growing Indonesian plasterboard market. This new facility will strengthen Saint-Gobain Gypsum's presence in Southeast Asia, where it already operates four plants in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Project costs are estimated at €35 million for a production capacity of 30 million square meters/year.

This new facility will give Saint-Gobain six plants in Indonesia, where the Group already produces Abrasives and Industrial Mortars. With its strong growth potential, large and resilient domestic market and vibrant construction industry, Indonesia plays a key role in Saint-Gobain's strategic development in Southeast Asia.
