BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU officials announced a new Tiger Bridge Program Wednesday, which will allow students who are taking courses at Baton Rouge Community College to live on the LSU campus.

The program is mostly for students who may have fallen short on the admission requirements to get into LSU.

The BRCC students will live at LSU and take classes that can eventually be transferred to LSU, if the students pass the classes with a midlevel GPA.

Those students will automatically be admitted to LSU, where they can finish their degree. The program begins this fall.

"This is a moment of great joy and satisfaction for me, personally, to be there at the very beginning and see where we are today," said LSU System President William Jenkins.
