ROBERT, LA (WAFB) -

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards says two brothers were caught in the act of trying to sell stolen dirt bikes.

Ronald and Wallace Bickford were arrested Monday after detectives found them in possession of the stolen property. The brothers had the motorcycles parked behind a building in Robert, LA. They were trying to sell them to an unsuspecting resident of that town.

The dirt bikes were reported stolen by the New Orleans Police Department.

During a search of the Bickford's vehicle, deputies found a stolen semi-automatic handgun which was reported stolen by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office in 2011.

Ronald Bickford, 43, of Ponchatoula was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm, a convicted felon being in possession of a firearm and a parole violation.

Wallace Bickford, 49, of Tickfaw was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen firearm.

Both Wallace and Ronald are in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and no bond has been set at this time.
