A tax break
study panel recommends not getting rid of any specific tax breaks in Louisiana.
Lawmakers
spent months reviewing the state's list of tax breaks and a report just came
out Tuesday.
A 14-member
panel is suggesting possible legislative action if the tax breaks are underused
or expired or if questions about them were raised by a commission member.
The panel
is also pushing for the Louisiana Department of Revenue to upgrade its computer
system to better track the financial impact of tax breaks.
The Assumption Parish, LA sinkhole continues to grow. The ground opened up on August 3, 2012 and residents were evacuated from their homes. The sinkhole, or slurry, is consuming land and trees.
