VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
A mobile home is left heavily damaged after it caught fire Saturday night.
The mobile home located in the 800-block of County Road 1702 in Van Zandt County caught fire Saturday evening. Grand Saline, Mineola and Van fire crews all responded to the scene.
The mobile home was heavily damaged. Officials say about 50-percent of the structure was damaged, but because of the roof being made of metal, all of the contents in the home were destroyed. Officials say the metal roof "acted like an oven" and caused the temperature inside the home to rise rapidly during the fire, melting or heavily damaging the contents inside the home.
The homeowner was not injured in this fire, and the cause is not yet known.
