Scotlandville Hornets advances to 5A Title Game - WAFB 9 News Baton Rouge, Louisiana News, Weather, Sports

Scotlandville Hornets took down the Comeaux Spartans 58-50 in a class 5A Semifinal in Hammond.

The Hornets trailed 46-40 in the 4th Quarter before closing out the game in a 16-4 run to advance to Monroe.

Hornets senior forward, Damien Jones  flirted with a triple double. He finished with 14 points, 9 rebounds and a block. Jones gave the Hornets a 52-50 lead with under two minutes left in the game.

Trelun Banks added a basket late in the game to seal it for the Hornets. He finished with a team-high 21 points.

The Hornets are looking to win their second straight state title when they return to Monroe.
