BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials announced Wednesday Baton Rouge will host two bowling championships in the next 12 years.
The Capital City will be the home of the 2017 US Bowling Congress Women's Championship and 2025 USBC Open Championship. The open championship is the main championship for bowling.
Baton Rouge saw 58,000 bowlers and 11,000 guests the last time it hosted the open championship.
The women's championship meant $38 million for Syracuse recently.
That tournament is scheduled for Feb. 15, 2017 to July 31, 2017.
The open tournament will be held Jan. 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025.
The East Baton Rouge City-Parish Government will pay a $1.3 million to $2.1 million subsidy.
