One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.More >>

Staff at the Ohio Department of Transportation Northwood facility began preparing for the latest snow storm at 4 a.m. Tuesday as they reported for regular shifts.
At noon, staff will move to 12-hour shifts that could remain in place until Thursday.
Crews did not pretreat roads this time because rain is expected first and would wash away any treatments. ODOT says salt remains on the road from a storm last Friday.
The big thing for crews to consider this time is how quickly conditions will change. A temperature change of a degree or two could mean the difference between rain and freezing rain or snow. Also, areas within a few miles of each other could see different conditions.
The plan is for ODOT workers to spread out and be ready to go at a moment's notice. They'll use plows if the conditions bring snow. If it is more icy, the best thing to do is to remind drivers to slow down.
As always, ODOT asks drivers to give crews plenty of room as they try to keep road conditions safe. They're also asking drivers to be aware of changing travel conditions, especially for the evening commute.
