Former Brusly Assistant Police Chief arrested for extortion

BRUSLY, LA (WAFB) -

According to the police chief of Brusly, LA the former assistant police chief has been arrested and charged with extortion and improper telephone communications.

Tommy Charleville has not been with the Brusly Police Department since 1996.

According to Chief Jamie Whaley, Charleville was text messaging a woman telling her that if he didn't perform sexual favors, he would post naked pictures of her on social media sites and tell her husband what she was doing.

Charleville is being held in the West Baton Rouge Detention Center.
