MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - The search is on for a driver who crashed into an apartment building, injuring two children. Not only did the driver leave a huge mess - she also left the victims with terrifying memories.
Monday morning, they are waking up to a huge hole where their wall once was. The injured include an adult, a 9-year-old and a 2- year-old. They were treated at the hospital and released.
According to the victims, the incident happened around 5 a.m. Sunday. That's when they woke to the sound of a car slamming into their bedroom on Shady Vista Road.
"I heard a lot of noise," said Tashuna Castle, 9-year-old victim. "I heard a lot of rumble and it was going vroom vroom vroom."
Another victim describes the terrifying ordeal.
"I was beating on the car trying to get the lady to pull off so I could get my sister and her daughter from under the car," said Sandra Ogunley, victim.
Residents say the driver drove back out through the hole she made in the wall and never looked back.
Police aren't certain of her car's make and model but it's possibly a Toyota or Honda Civic.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the driver to call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528- CASH.
