The second Annual Greater Cincinnati Regional Science Bowl was held on Saturday at Cincinnati State.
High school science teams representing 16 schools in Greater Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Trenton, Warsaw, Lexington and Louisville areas were challenged with questions on biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space science and mathematics.
The day long competition was a round robin, double elimination tournament featuring fast-paced question and answer matches. The highest scoring team will represent the Greater Cincinnati region at the U.S. Department of Energy's 23rd National Science Bowl in Washington D.C.
The 2012 winner of the Greater Cincinnati Regional Science Bowl was duPont Manual High School from Louisville Kentucky. DuPont High School finished in the top 16 at the National Science Bowl and received a $1 thousand check for their school.
