GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -
Police in Gonzales, LA are searching for two suspects who are accused of following an elderly man home from LeBlanc's Payless Grocery store to steal money from him.
It happened Monday, February 18, 2013. The 77-year-old man cashed a $600 check at LeBlanc's and drove home. He pulled into his carport and got out of his vehicle. That is when one of the two black males ran up to him, knocked him down and stole the cash.
Police say the two suspects took off in a newer model Nissan Altima that is believed to be metallic blue in color.
The suspects were captured on surveillance camera inside LeBlanc's Monday. One suspect was last seen wearing a light blue, collared shirt. It is possibly a work shirt with writing embroidered on the left side of the chest area. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a gold rim, black shirt and khaki pants.
Anyone one with information on the suspect's identity is asked to call crime stoppers at 344-STOP or the Gonzales Police Department at 225-647-9572.
