BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A 62-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after he was accused of shooting his 35-year-old son during an argument.
According to the East Baton Rouge Police Department, Leroy Wilkerson and his son Aswan Wilkerson were arguing February 13, 2013 around 9:30 p.m. in the 21000 block of Samuels Road in Baton Rouge.
During the argument, a witness separated the two and reports say Leroy went inside the residence. He came out a short time later with a pistol and shot Aswan. Leroy then called 911 and waited for emergency personnel.
Five days later, Aswan died from his injuries and Leroy's charges were upgraded to manslaughter.
