CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A local soldier who was found murdered in Colorado has been laid to rest.

Authorities say Kimberly Walker, 28, was found dead Feb. 17 in a Colorado Springs motel room. Her soldier boyfriend, Sgt. Montrell Lamar Anderson Mayo, was jailed in Greenville, N.C., on a Colorado murder warrant.

Walker's body arrived at the JC Battle Funeral Home in Avondale with a full military procession on Tuesday evening.

The funeral was originally scheduled for Tuesday but the plane carrying Walker's remains was delayed. The funeral was held Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church and a burial with full military honors followed at Spring Grove Cemetery.

The Army says Walker joined in 2004 and was stationed at Fort Riley, Kan.
