OWENTON, KY (FOX19) -
Two people were killed and one person critically injured after an accident in Owen County on Monday.
Kentucky
State Police say Gary Sigretto, 51, of Owenton was headed southbound in a pickup truck on Highway 127, when the vehicle crossed the center line for unknown reasons.
As a result, Sigretto's
truck collided head-on with a car driven by Lillie Newby, 73, of
Frankfort. It happened around 5:15 p.m.
Newby and passenger Patricia Gibson, 76, also of
Frankfort, were taken to New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton where
they were both pronounced dead.
Sigretto was
flown to UC Medical Center for
life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say everyone involved in the crash was wearing a
seat belt.
