Man arrested for shooting father

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

A Hammond man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly killing his father.

Police say Robert Lafargue, 30, called 911 just before 10 a.m. and told the dispatcher that he had shot his father, Laurent Lafargue, 67.

When officers arrived at the home on Rue Cannes, they say Robert Lafargue exited the home and surrendered.

Laurent was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robert Lafargue has been charged with first degree murder.
