BATAVIA, OH (AP) -
Ohio's governor and other officials are welcoming a food packaging and tableware company to a planned new site that will bring jobs to southwest Ohio.
Gov. John Kasich will greet executives of Huhtamaki in Batavia around noon Tuesday. The company whose parent is based in Finland says it plans to invest at least $60 million in the site over the next three years and to create 237 jobs.
The company plans to make paper drink cups and distribute a range of products from a new converting facility and distribution center. It's at the site of a former Ford Motor Co. transmission plant, which also includes a University of Cincinnati campus.
Ohio, Clermont County and other local officials have worked with the company on the site and tax incentives. (Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.)
