A Shreveport man is behind bars, accused of forcing his way into a Caddo Parish home and attempting to rape a young woman.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Detective Matt Purgerson, 27-year-old Brandon Lee Gibson came to the victim's door on Friday evening asking to use the phone.

She refused, but agreed to charge Gibson's cell phone. When the victim went to the kitchen to charge the phone, investigators say Gibson entered her home without permission and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to escape her attacker and run to a neighbor's for help.  She was later treated and released from a local hospital.

Gibson fled the scene on foot but Caddo Sheriff's patrol deputies and K-9 units arrested him a short time later at a residence on Hampton Lane. As deputies placed him under arrest, he struck a deputy in the face and resisted being taken into custody. He was subdued by a K-9 and taken to LSUHSC for treatment of a dog bite.  Upon his release, Gibson was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center by sheriff's Deputy Jamie Hendrix and Sgt. Glenn Cornell.

Gibson, of the 4600 block of North Lakeshore Drive, faces charges of attempted forcible rape, aggravated burglary, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, two counts of resisting an officer, resisting an officer with force, battery of a police officer, and possession of schedule II narcotics (methamphetamine).

He is being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on $157,765 bond.
