SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A man was injured in a shooting at a party in the Allendale neighborhood Sunday morning.
Police say it happened in the 700 block of Pierre Avenue near the YWCA building. They say two groups of people got into an argument after a party at the YWCA. The groups then reportedly started shooting at each other.
Police say 52-year-old Jerry Thomas was shot while picking up family members from the party. Thomas was taken to LSU Medical Center with a minor injury.
Witnesses reported seeing what appeared to be a blue colored, boxed style, Chevrolet Caprice at the intersection of Pierre Avenue and Abbie Street, exchanging shots with subjects who had used a nearby parking lot for overflow parking while at the party. It appears that during the exchange at least one vehicle was struck by gunfire.
No arrests have been made.
