LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police are investigating a homicide that happened Saturday morning near 22nd and Magazine after a woman was gunned down outside her apartment building. It's the second homicide in Louisville of 2013.
Dominique Carter-Bryant, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Anne Rhodes. Carter-Bryant died from multiple gunshot wounds.
First Division LMPD officers arrived at 6:15 a.m. to the Salisbury Apartments building. Neighbors told WAVE 3 there were multiple gunshots fired. The 911 call came into MetroSafe at 6:12 a.m.
Police are not sure of a motive and couldn't verify whether Carter-Bryant's purse or wallet was near her. "We're also trying to determine what were her final movements, had she been out, was she going out to work or coming in," Public Information Officer Alicia Smiley said.
Magazine Street was closed between 21st and 22nd Streets for several hours as homicide detectives investigated.
