Columbus music producer nabbed on child pornography charges

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus man once thought to be a victim is now a suspect after police found disturbing images on items he says were stolen from his home.

Stevie Porter, music producer and CEO of Popular Beat Music Entertainment, Ltd. was accused of producing more than music.

The 40-year-old appeared before a judge on several serious charges including Possession of Child Pornography and Child Molestation.

Porter pled not guilty to all charges but investigators said the evidence clearly proves he's guilty.

On January 27, Porter called police to report he'd been beaten and robbed by 6 or 7 teenagers at his Forrest Road home in Columbus the day before. We spoke to Porter, who recounted the horrific act,

"They started hitting me by fist, kind of like a gang initiation. I was actually going to jump from the window," Porter said.

Columbus Detective Amanda Hogan testified the teens got away with a keyboard, monitor, and a cell phone; all reportedly worth $1,200.

However, Detective Hogan testified something didn't seem right about Porter's story.

Hogan stated Porter admitted to knowing at least two of the teens that he said robbed him.

One of the suspects, a 17-year-old high school student, was reportedly mortified when he looked through the stolen cell phone and found naked pictures of himself.

Hogan testified an attorney representing several of the teens turned in the stolen electronics to police; upon further investigation, police stated they found several inappropriate videos and pictures of children performing sexual acts and their genitalia.

Porter allegedly videotaped and took pictures of at least six different boys under the age of 18.

Detective Hogan testified one of his victims a 14-year-old boy had been reported missing by his family.

Hogan stated the 14-year-old told investigators he'd been to Porter's home on Forrest Road in Columbus.

Porter reportedly showed the teen videos of other teens having sex, tried to get him to sleep in the bed with him, and would not take him home when he asked.

According to investigator testimony, more charges could be pending against Porter.

Police report they're continuing to try and identify all the children in the videos and pictures.

Porter's is being held in the Muscogee County jail with no bond.
