ASSUMPTION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -
The search for a missing Baton Rouge firefighter is now
in its ninth day.
Jacob Lewis, 28, was last seen on the Belle River in
Assumption Parish on Jan. 30.
Boats from several agencies are all on scene to assist
in the search. Crews continue dragging the river bottom. They are also still
using sonar equipment and divers.
This past Saturday would have made four years Lewis had
been with the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
His wife said they were loading their boat back on the
trailer after scouting areas to set crawfish traps when she noticed the boat
adrift. She told authorities she then spotted her husband struggling in the
water.
She said he was floating down the Intracoastal with his
arms up and yelling for her to call 911.
