Toledo sex offender wanted for failing to verify address

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for the public's help to find a Tier III sex offender wanted on a warrant for failing to verify his address.

Investigators with the Lucas County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for the arrest of Michael Vanscoder Dec. 14, 2012.

According to public records, Vanscoder, 30, was convicted in 2004 and in 2009 of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Records indicate his crimes were committed against juvenile females.

He was released from prison in May 2012 and last registered his address on 17th Street in Toledo in October.  

Vanscoder has several tattoos, including a cross on his right hand, tattoo sleeves on both arms, and several tattoos on his neck. He is described as 6 feet tall weighing 200 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Michael Vanscoder should contact the Lucas County Sheriff's Office or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 855-BCI-OHIO.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
