Cassidy reintroduces bill for Isaac relief

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Congressman Bill Cassidy, R-LA, is re-introducing a bill to the Senate that would help families and small businesses still recovering from Hurricane Isaac.

Cassidy said the Isaac Act would provide additional tax relief for those most impacted by the storm without costing the taxpayers.

Louisiana and Mississippi residents living in the federally-declared disaster area could deduct more unreimbursed losses and withdraw funds from their IRAs.

The money would be tax free and not subject to contribution limits if paid back within three years.
