Blanchard man struck, killed walking home from Super Bowl party

MOORINGSPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Blanchard man was hit by a pickup truck and killed while walking home from a Super Bowl party in Caddo Parish Sunday night.

It happened on LA Hwy. 1 south of Lake End Road in Mooringsport just before 9 p.m. 24-year-old Daniel Kenneth Randall was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit indicates that Randall had been drinking alcohol at a party on Sundown Drive, before he left the party on foot and was struck by a 2006 GMC pickup driven by Floyd Mooney, age 63, of Jefferson, Texas. Mooney was not injured and not ticketed.

The CPSO says the investigation is ongoing.
