As millions of people tune in to watch the Super Bowl LIVE from New Orleans this Sunday, Southern University's marching band will be part of the pre-game activities. This will be the fourth Super Bowl appearance for Southern's band, nicknamed "The Human Jukebox."

That's quite an accomplishment. And, just last year, Southern's dance team performed with Madonna during the Super Bowl halftime show with an audience of 114 million people, making it the most watched halftime show ever.

Southern's director of bands calls this year's Super Bowl appearance a testament and tribute to the hard work of the students. He's right, but it's also a tribute to all those at the university who work with the band. One Super Bowl appearance is an experience of a lifetime. Getting invited back time after time is something that Southern can certainly be proud of.
