PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A woman in her 20s has died after being struck by a vehicle while walking near Thunderbird and 19th avenues, according to Phoenix police.

Sgt. Steve Martos said she was walking on the sidewalk when she was hit.

The driver is believed to be approximately 19 years old and had three other teenagers in the vehicle with him, said Martos.

Thunderbird will be shut down west of 19th Avenue for the next several hours.
