SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
As Mardi Gras season continues, hundreds came out Friday night to get a sneak peek at Saturday's Krewe of Centaur parade floats.
"This is really the first time that we have been this up and close with the public," says Krewe of Centaur King Ryan Hammonds.
More than 350,000 people are expected to come to Saturday's parade.
Roads along the parade route closed Friday evening in preparation for the event.
"We are well staffed for anything that may come about," says Shreveport Police Cpl. Marcus Hines.
Mobile police units line the parade route, and Hines says more than 200 police officers will patrol the area on Saturday.
The parade will start at Clyde Fant and Lake Street beginning at 4:30 p.m..
