PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -
A teen is
facing some serious charges after authorities said he was at school with a
shotgun Friday.
The West
Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said a 16-year-old boy had a sawed-off
shotgun at Port Allen High.
Deputies
said he showed it off to some students and one student reported him to school
officials.
Investigators
said the boy threw the gun into a trash can at some point and the school was
placed on lockdown around 2:30 p.m.
WBRSO was
called to the school. Deputies arrested the teen and took the shotgun.
Authorities
said the boy was booked on several charges, but they have not given a detailed
list of what they are.
The
student's name will not be released because of his age.
