CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
A 17-year-old accused of murdering a South Euclid woman has changed his plea.
Jeffrey Rembert changed his plea to guilty on Wednesday morning, and will be sentenced next month.
Police say on July 14, Rembert struck 65-year-old Jacqueline Gavorski over the head multiple times with a piece of concrete, causing her death.
Gavorski was returning to her South Euclid home when she was approached by Rembert in her driveway. She was unloading her car after having been out shopping at various stores.
Gavorski was pronounced dead at the scene and it was later discovered that her purse had been stolen.
Police say the crime was a random act of violence and the suspect and victim did not know each other.
