SOLON, OH (WOIO) -
More than 140 Cleveland area companies were recently asked do you need more employees and nearly half said yes.
It's a sign many say that their business is bouncing back.
Hundreds of custom industrial brushes used around the world are made right in Solon, everything from products for food processing companies to brushes that clean grenade launchers.
Jim Benjamin runs the Precision Brush Company that employs about 17 people.
He says the last couple of years have been a little slow but now things are turning around." We've been hesitant to hire for the last couple of years, brought in some temporary workers where we need to," says Benjamin.
According to a recent survey by the "Entrepreneurs' Organization" a majority of Cleveland area small businesses expect to hire both full and part time workers over the next six months.
"We're hiring a new employee tomorrow. It's always a little bit of a challenge to get the right type of employee and proper fit," explains Benjamin.
Benjamin says he found the proper fit through the Cleveland Chapter of the "Entrepreneur Organization."
He's the president of the group that meets monthly and shares their experiences in the workforce.
"It's a peer to peer organization where there's learning from other business successes as well as failures," explains Benjamin.
