FULTONDALE, AL (WBRC) -
A Fultondale businessman says he helped give University of Alabama football players an edge in the national championship game against LSU in 2012. The story hit this week in Sports Illustrated.
Mitch Ross says his business has been overwhelmed by calls and hits on his website from the media and those interested in his product. Ross sells stickers which can be applied to pressure points to increase performance. Ross also sales sprays and tablets which come from deer antlers, which provide a natural growth hormone.
Back in 2011, the NFL banned synthetic growth hormones. Ross says he did not charge Alabama players and the coaches were unaware of the product. Ross says strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochrane sent him a letter to stop providing the product to the players.
Sports Commentator Paul Finebaum says he does not believe there is an NCAA violation.
