HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University baseball players Andro Èutura, Dylan Hills and Harry Slade were selected Thursday for preseason honors by College Sports Madness.
All three Lions were second-team selections to the website's 2013 preseason All-Conference team.
Èutura, named 2012 freshman of the year by the Southland Conference, won his final six pitching decisions last season. The graduate of Pearl River High School defeated No. 21-ranked Mississippi State for his first collegiate win. He tossed Southeastern's only complete game of the season and finished second on the staff in wins (six) as well as innings pitched (76.1).
Hills' nine victories led the Lion pitching staff in 2012. The hard-throwing right-hander from nearby Ponchatoula, La., finished second on the team in appearances (27), saves (two) and strikeouts (51).
Slade, a native of Baltimore, Md., is the leading-returning hitter on the Southeastern squad. Last season, he hit .294 with 37 runs batted in and 14 stolen bases.
The official All-Southland Conference preseason team and polls, as selected by conference coaches and sports information contacts, will be released Wednesday afternoon.
