ADAMS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A home burglary in Adams County led investigators to an odd crime scene, especially when the homeowner explained exactly what had been taken from the residence.
Adams County deputies were called to a home on Martin Luther King Street Monday afternoon when the owner arrived to find her back door was open. According to the incident report, detectives were unable to gather any real photos or clues from the home because the suspect had "straightened-up" the residence after selecting the items he wanted to take.
The homeowner told deputies that at first she thought the only items missing were a gold ring and several bottle of prescription medication, until she went into the kitchen. The report states that as the homeowner was reviewing each room, she discovered the culprit had taken a raw chicken out of her refrigerator.
Not only did the fowl thief clean up after rummaging through the home's items, the victim says there is evidence the crook also took a shower in her bathroom. Deputies say there are no suspects at this time, but anyone with information related to the crime is asked to call the sheriff's office at 601-442-2752.
