PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A Phoenix security guard is in custody for allegedly downloading images depicting the sexual exploitation children, according to a court document.
Daniel Mendoza, 59, of Glendale, was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on Wednesday on 10 counts of exploitation of a minor.
Officers served a search warrant on his home and located Mendoza. During questioning, Mendoza admitted to obtaining the images and video and knowing the youngest child was 5 years old, police said.
Officers said most of the images and videos seized depicted children between the ages of 10 to 12.
Mendoza explained he would store the images he was sexually interested in on an external drive, police said.
Police investigators said they discovered numerous images capturing underage children in sexual positions or sexual acts.
