Cristina is a proud Colorado Native and University of Denver graduate. While in Denver she had the opportunity to work with the Denver CBS affiliate KCNC and Mile High Sports Radio as a Sports Intern.
Before leaving Colorado, Cristina met with one of her idols, Woody Paige, a Denver Post Sports Columnist and face of ESPN's Around the Horn. Paige told Cristina, "If you want to make it anywhere in this business you're going to have to pay your dues, be creative, and love what you do. If that doesn't work, come back in a year and I'll hire you myself." With those words in mind she migrated South in September of 2011 to join WTOC as a production assistant. Working behind the scenes, she was able to broaden her horizon by dabbling in both general news and sports.
Cristina never took Woody Paige up on his offer, but decided to continue growing in Savannah and take the next step in her career at WTOC. In January 2013, she joined THE NEWS at Daybreak as Morning Reporter and Weekend Sports Anchor. She is now a Sports Reporter and Anchor.
Since her start at WTOC, Cristina has had the privilege of covering local prep sports, University and Georgia Football, the 2012 SEC Football Championship, and Winter X Games 16 in Aspen, Colorado. Starting with the 2012 football season, she became a feature reporter for Tailgatin' with WTOC, and so her knack for storytelling grew!
With a great surrounding community she is now devoted to bringing you local and national stories, breaking news and sports coverage.
Cristina is a former competitive figure skater. When she not working she enjoys her time on the ice, going to church, traveling, Crossfit, hitting the ski slopes with her family and rooting for the University of Colorado where her younger brother, John Paul plays Defensive Tackle. Go Buffs!
