Fort Collins, CO (PRWEB) January 22, 2013
Each year, medical professionals gather from around the country to learn about new medical technologies, discoveries, and techniques in combating vein disease at the American Venous Forum. Due to his commitment in educating his community about vein disease and treating it in the most effective way possible, Fort Collins General Surgeon, Dr. Steven Kaufman, has committed to attend this notable conference in Phoenix, Arizona from February 27th through March 2nd. The Forum's conference exists to help doctors continue improving their treatment methods while providing them with a network of other likeminded medical professionals.
According to their website, the American Venous Forum's objectives and initiatives focus on widespread public awareness of the prevalence and dangers of vein disease, medical education, research, standardization of classifying vein disease, and collaboration between doctors in the field. Among their many accomplishments, they were "the first to create a comprehensive classification system for chronic venous disease (CEAP) and the subsequent Venous Severity Scoring System - used as a worldwide standard in scientific papers. They were the first to initiate a national screening program for venous disease and the first to launch an online venous registry in the United States."
Dr. Kaufman believes that the American Venous Forum provides valuable opportunities for doctors in his field to expand their knowledge and to provide better treatment to their patients. He is honored to be able to participate in such a reputable event. "I am looking forward to attending the conference and I am proud to be a member of this organization. Those at the American Venous Forum are extremely dedicated to the furthering of knowledge about vein disease and truly desire to help improve people's lives. That is exactly what we want to do at Total Vein Care."
