BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A concerned citizen called the Louisiana State Police about a man sleeping
behind the wheel of a vehicle at a red light in Baton Rouge.
Troopers responded to the intersection of Airline at Highland, but the 2001
Chevy pickup was not there when the troopers arrived. A trooper who was headed
that way saw the pickup on Antioch Road.
The driver tried to get away by pulling into a neighborhood. The Trooper
followed the pickup into a driveway and blocked him in.
According to the trooper, Jeffery Klahn, 27, pretended to be asleep in the
vehicle.
The trooper called for backup. Once they arrived, they removed Klahn from
the vehicle and placed him under arrest.
He is charged with 4th offense DWI, fail to signal, resisting an officer,
fail to signal, improper turn, and drivers license not on person.
