Local restaurants, sports bars gear up for Falcons fans

Getting tickets to the NFC Championship game at the Georgia Dome won't be an option for many people.

But getting inside some sports bars may be a challenge too.

Reservations at one spot were in such high demand they stopped taking requests.

Stats Restaurant and Bar on Marietta Street near downtown Atlanta had to stop taking reservations on Thursday from fans looking to get a premium seat to watch the game on TV.

On Saturday night, Falcons fans were already getting into the spirit.

Best friends from childhood Mike Dillon and Adam Goldberg ate dinner at the restaurant. They're in town from both coasts as a way to reconnect and catch a great game.

"We're rooting for the Falcons. We want to see some great football," said Dillon.

"I want to see a lot of offense. I want to see the Georgia Dome loud.  I heard it's loud in there. I want to see it, that's why we came to Atlanta," said Goldberg.

Falcons fans had some competition at the restaurant.

Homegrown Woodstock native Bruce Miller is a fullback for the San Francisco 49ers. He hosted a dinner party there with family and friends.

"[I'm] just excited about the opportunity to play here in front of family and friends and play against the home team. It's cool," said Miller.

Manager Aaron Buggs told CBS Atlanta there will still plenty of room for walk in guest at the restaurant on Sunday.
