MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Columbia, South Carolina Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating three missing people who were last heard from while using a cell phone in Alabama. They have not been seen or heard from since January 7, 2013.
Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says his office is asking the public for any information that may lead to the location of Brady S. Brown, 59, his uncle, Eddie Lee Cobb, Jr., 68, and family friend Ella Williams, 52.
The three left Columbia on January 7, 2013 in a 2006 beige or gold Dodge Stratus with paper license plate tags. They were supposed to travel Interstate 20 westbound to Shreveport, Louisiana, but they never arrived.
The last communication came from a cell phone police say belonged to one of the three. The call was made in the Birmingham, Alabama area on the same day they departed South Carolina.
Investigators say Brown's relatives made the missing persons report. Williams may be in need of medications.
Investigators with the Columbia Police Department's Special Victims Unit have alerted law enforcement agencies in five states including Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.
Anyone with any information can anonymously call, text or submit an online report to Columbia police. Tipsters can earn up to $1,000.
