BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials at Baton Rouge Community College said the first day of class for the spring semester has been moved to Jan. 28 due to a power outage.
Classes were originally scheduled to start Tuesday, Jan. 22.
According to BRCC, the campus-wide outage was caused by water from heavy rains getting into the underground electrical distribution system.
The loss of power shut down the campus Monday.
It has left the majority of offices on the campus closed this week.
BRCC said it has extended the registration and payment deadlines through Thursday, Jan. 24.
The campus remains closed until further notice.
