BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Gun and ammunition sales
in the Baton Rouge area, just like around the country, are up, and for some
stores, inventory is running low.
Gun and ammunition
salesmen say they're having a tough time getting their hands on certain
products. The shelves at Precision Firearms are stocked, but what you see is
what is available.
Owners say they have
enough ammo to last the first quarter of the year, but they can't predict
beyond that.
"Those that are responding
to inquiries, like [us], are saying expect delivery delays anywhere from 8 weeks
to the end of the year," said Wade Duty, co-owner of Precision Firearms.
Duty says it appears
manufacturers are not ramping up production because they're worried they'll get
stuck with inventory they can't sell.
