BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -
Many see President Obama's announcement on Wednesday as a gun grab, and politically motivated.
"I strongly believe in the 2nd amendment," said Shooters USA owner, Paul Murray.
He and other gun rights enthusiasts have been very vocal even at the anticipation of new gun laws, especially reinstating the so called assault weapons ban, which basically outlaws military style weapons.
The previous ban expired in 2010.
"Well, assault rifles are semi-auto, you pull one trigger, one bullet, it's not like the full autos," said Murray. He believes semi automatic rifles have been unfairly targeted by politicians.
On Wednesday President Obama announced his proposals and executive orders.
The President's proposals will require passage in the U.S. House and Senate, and they include requiring a background check on all gun sales, not just sales that take place in a store, but in gun shows and on the Internet. Copyright 2012 KSLA. All rights reserved.
