KENTWOOD, LA (WAFB) -
Authorities said a southeast Louisiana police chief has turned himself in on suspicion of misappropriating money seized in a burglary.
The Louisiana State Police said Kentwood Police Chief Greg Newton is accused of misappropriating $2,000.
Newton was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Prison on charges of malfeasance in office and obstruction of justice for tampering with evidence.
Troopers said the investigation is ongoing to determine whether others were involved.
