The East
Baton Rouge Parish School System kicks off its annual pre-kindergarten sign up
this week.
The
application process is from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, but there are two events before
then to highlight the period.
Parents can
head to Cortana Mall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday for information
about pre-school programs.
There is
also an event next Wednesday (Jan. 23) at Woodlawn Middle School from 4 p.m. until
6 p.m.
This year,
the school system is doing away with the lottery system and is opting to screen
students for admission.
Director
Bobbie Robertson said students who have had little or no early education will
get priority admission.
