COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) -
A judge in Covington has sentenced a woman to 25 years in prison in the dismemberment slaying of a man.
The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/VeNlHw ) reported Donnell Brown's widow delivered a victim impact statement Monday in Kenton Circuit Court, saying she still owed a mortuary bill for reassembling Brown's body for burial.
Tiffany Herrera is 28 years old. In addition to the abuse of a corpse count that she pleaded guilty to, Herrera has been convicted of counts of murder, evidence tampering and theft in Brown's 2011 killing in a vacant apartment.
Sharon Brown told the court that a grandson still writes letters to her husband, being too young to understand death. Sharon Brown said she takes the letters to her husband's grave.
