MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

Mesa police need the public's help catching several serial bandits behind at least nine robberies since Jan. 4.

Detectives have dubbed them the "hooded bandits" because they wear hoodies or bandanas over their faces.

Investigators said usually they show up around closing time, display a handgun or fake it, take the money and drive off.

There has been multiple unconfirmed vehicle descriptions, including a light-colored older passenger car, a small dark SUV and a black four-door or small car with three possible primer or faded paint spots on the passenger side.

One of the thieves might have a thin mustache and wear prescription glasses, police said.

In one incident, one of the suspects was described as having an obvious pigeon toe on his right foot when walking.

Here's a list of the robberies police believed they've committed. All of them are in Mesa.

1/13/13 - Dairy Queen at 1928 316 S. Power Rd.

1/11/13 - Safeway at 9101 E. Baseline Rd.

1/11/13 - Taco Bell at 6728 E. Main St.

1/10/13 - Circle K at 1210 S. Higley Rd.

1/10/13 - Walgreens at 6002 E. Main St.

1/10/13 - Walgreens at 9230 E. Main St.

1/4/13 - New China Restaurant at 1130 N. Higley Rd.

People with any information about the robberies or the bandits behind them are asked to call Mesa police at 480-644-2211.

A deadly virus is threatening the crawfish industry in Southwest Louisiana. It's called white spot syndrome virus and it was first discovered in Thailand, but somehow it made its way to ponds in South Louisiana and specialists are struggling to find the funds to research a solution.  “The catch was increasing and increasing and then it dropped 70% and that's when you saw the dead crawfish floating in the water,” said a crawfish farmer of 34 years, Ian Garbarino.
