MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -
Investigators say a 28-year-old Mount Pleasant man was arrested after he sold a laptop filled with child pornography videos to a pawn shop.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department arrested 28-year-old Justin Michael Francis on Jan. 4 and charged him with sexual exploitation of a minor.
On the morning of Jan. 4, officers responded to the Money Man Pawn on 1104 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. in reference to a laptop that was sold to the pawn shop containing pornographic material.
The manager said Francis sold the laptop to him on Dec. 18.
According to police, when the manager returned from the holidays, he signed on to the computer to clear the hard drive and found several incest and child pornography videos saved on the computer.
Investigators say the manager shut the computer off and notified police.
Authorities say Francis admitted to downloading the child pornography found on the laptop. Francis was given a $25,000 surety bond and ordered not to have contact with children under 18 and stay away from the Internet.
