SHREVEPORT, La. - The no. 25 LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots defeated the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs 71-57 on Thursday night at The Dock in Red River Athletic Conference play.

LSUS (11-3, 6-2 RRAC) have their 30-point lead to thank for the victory as their sluggish play in the second half in the addition to Jarvis' never say die attitude allowed the Lady Bulldogs to pull it to within 14 by the game's final buzzer. Sharde Henry led all scorers for the Lady Pilots with 23 points, 17 of which were scored in the first half of play. Henry pulled down 11 boards for her third double-double of the season.

Christy Willis was the only other Lady Pilot to hit double figures as she finished with 16 points. Brittany Maddox hit the most three's for the Lady Pilots but that was all as she finished with nine points.

JCC (0-12, 0-9 RRAC) had two scorers net double digits with Dinilesizwe Love having 16 points and Jametria Green finished with 10 points. The Lady Pilots did a nice job of shutting her down as she scored 10 of Javis' 12 points.

The Lady Pilots will hit the road for four straight games with their next contest coming on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MDT at Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico and then on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth.

Pilots rally past Jarvis

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots rallied to take down the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs on Thursday night at The Dock 79-71 in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Pilots finished the game with six in double figures and two players had double-doubles.

LSUS (10-3, 6-2) relied on the bench in their final game of a four-game home stand as the non-starters tossed in 40 points on a night where the nation's leading scorer Rodney Milum had on three points before fouling out after only 15 minutes of action.

Three starters hit double figures with Rydell Harris knocking down 14 points and Mark Politte hit a dozen while Aaron Jones had 10 but none bigger than the three he hit from the left corner to give the Pilots the lead for good 73-70 with 2 minutes and 12 seconds to play in the second half.

Harris and Politte each collected double-doubles as Harris pulled down 10 rebounds and Politte 11. For Harris it's his sixth time this season for a double-double while its Politte's first.

The bench was the big story tonight for the Pilots as they outscored Jarvis' 40-20 to rally the Pilots back in the second half after they trailed as much as 15 in the first half. Brandon Davis had 14 points and nine rebounds while Breion Beaver had 11. Hall scored 12 points while dishing out the game-high of seven assists as both teams had 15 total assists.

The Pilots struggled shooting the first half as constant fouls keep them from getting a rhythm as they shot just 33-percent but were better in the second half at 47-percent. LSUS squeeked out the hard fought battles for rebounds 47-45 in a game where each team had 19 turnovers.

JCC (5-10, 3-6 RRAC) could not hold off the Pilots in the second half but finished the game with two scorers in double figures.

LSUS will hit the road with the first of a four-game road trip beginning Saturday night in Hobbs, New Mexico, at Southwest at 7:30 p.m. MDT. Then the Pilots will play Texas Wesleyan on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. before returning home to prepare for another two-game road trip to Oklahoma.
