Lady Techsters win 500th home game besting Texas St

RUSTON, La. - The Lady Techsters had four players score in double digits as they defeated Texas State 71-58 Thursday night in the Thomas Assembly Center for the team's 500th win in Ruston in front of a crowd of 2,108.

Kelia Shelton and Whitney Frazier each recorded a double-double to lead the Techsters offensive attack. Shelton scored 18 points, while grabbing 13 rebounds. Frazier scored 15 points and also added 15 rebounds, six of which came offensively. Brittany Lewis and Lulu Perry each tacked on ten points apiece.

LA Tech jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game, and never looked back. Tech led for all 40 minutes, including leading by 14 at the half. The Lady Techsters bench outscored Texas State's bench 32-6. The Lady Techsters also out-rebounded the Bobcats 52-34.

Texas State had three players score in double-digits, as they were led by Diamond Ford, who led all scorers with 25 points. Erin Peoples and Ashley Ezeh added 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Tech's next action comes Saturday night in Ruston when they take on UTSA for a 7 PM tipoff at the Thomas Assembly Center.
